Dont get stuck in the Snow Unprepared

Here are some tips from Environment Canada- preparing your vehicle for any cold winter day...

Follow these tips if you are stuck in the snow:

  • Try to stay calm and don't go out in the cold.
  • Stay in your car: you will avoid getting lost and your car is a safe shelter.
  • Don't tire yourself out. Shovelling in the intense cold can be deadly.
  • Let in fresh air by opening a window on the side sheltered from the wind.
  • Keep the engine off as much as possible.
  • Be aware of carbon monoxide poisoning and make sure the exhaust pipe is not obstructed by snow.
  • If possible, use a candle placed inside a deep can instead of the car heater to warm up.
  • Turn on warning lights or set up road flares to make your car visible.
  • Turn on the ceiling light; leaving your headlights or hazard lights on for too long will drain the battery.
  • Move your hands, feet and arms to maintain circulation. Stay awake.
  • Keep an eye out for other cars and emergency responders.
  • Try to keep clothing dry since wet clothing can lead to a dangerous loss of body heat.

 Prepare an emergency car kit

Always have winter safety and emergency equipment in your car.
A basic car kit should contain the following:
  • Food that won't spoil, such as energy bars
  • Water—plastic bottles that won't break if the water freezes (replace them every six months)
  • Blanket
  • Extra clothing and shoes or boots
  • First aid kit with seatbelt cutter
  • Small shovel, scraper and snowbrush
  • Candle in a deep can and matches
  • Wind‑up flashlight
  • Whistle—in case you need to attract attention
  • Roadmaps
  • Copy of your emergency plan

Items to keep in your trunk:

  • Sand, salt or cat litter (non-clumping)
  • Antifreeze and windshield washer fluid
  • Tow rope
  • Jumper cables
  • Fire extinguisher
  • Warning light or road flares

Even Rappers Tithe

If we look up the definition of 'tithe' in the dictionary,
it says that it is "to give a tenth part of something
paid as a voluntary contribution".

Are we then 'tithing' to charities, or to our church,
or to others?

Whether it is 10 percent or 1 percent, whatever you decide to give,
it is a personal question.
And only God can judge/see our true hearts and intentions.

As even in the bible it says in 2 Corinthians 9:7...
"Each one must give as he has decided in his heart,
not reluctantly or under compulsion,
for God loves a cheerful giver."

However, there is something to be said about
being generous, and how much comes back to you.

As it says in the bible...
In Luke 6:38,
"Give, and it will be given to you.
Good measure, pressed down, shaken together,
running over, will be put into your lap.
For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you."

And...

Proverbs 3:9-10
"Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits
of all your produce;
then your barns will be filled with plenty."

And amazingly, the word of God encourages you to "test"
this principle called tithing too!
Malachi 3:10...
Bring the full tithe into the storehouse,
that there may be food in my house.
And thereby "put me to the test", says the Lord of hosts,
if I will not open the windows of heaven for you
and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.

Its a pretty cool concept.

Basically, the more generous we are, God sees this,
and ensures that whatever we give to others will be returned
to us in a supernatural way.

But it may be a little conceited 'expect' to receive when you give though...
just "have faith" that God will work things out eventually.
As nothing you give ever goes unnoticed. :)

Even secular rappers know about this amazing biblical
concept called tithing.

Here's an interview with a Secular Rapper LL Cool J
and TD Jakes about how giving to others
will be returned back to us- in God's perfect timing.

Enjoy! And happy tithing! :)

Hand of God in Outer Space

This is a view from NASA's Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array, or NuSTAR.

Its a nebula 17,000 light-years away, powered by an old spinning star
called PSR B1509-58, or B1509 for short... also known as "Hand of God."

Beautiful, eh?

Genesis 1:14 in the bible...

"God said: let lights appear in the sky to separate the day from the night.
Let them be signs to mark the seasons, days, and years."

Become a Magnet for Good Things when you Honor God

Christian Preacher Joel Osteen talks about how the right opportunities come across your
path when you honour God first, and when you Trust in Him.

Because He is a Father who loves you.

Even if we live in a world of hurt, unfairness, and tragedy,
when we dedicate our days and actions to God- he can take us to great places!

Jesus is our prime example- even if he lived a poor life of service,
where even one of his best friends (Judas) betrayed him, and his disciples
left him to be crusified- even when he was all alone in dark times,
he still kept His faith in God, and He resurrected in 3 days. Wow!

The Bible says in Romans 8:
"The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you.
And since we are his children, we will share his treasures,
for everything God gives to his Son, Christ, is ours, too.
But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.
Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will give us later."

So keep trusting, loving, and serving God- no matter what circumstance you are in.

The praise you Give Him, is worth it.

And when you bless others- God will bless you too.

Proverbs 19:17 goes...
Whoever is generous 'lends to the Lord', and he will repay him for his deed.

God bless you today!
