Shapes in the clouds

Welcome to summer!

One fun classic family activity to do outdoors, whether you're on a picnic, BBQ in the backyard, or at the beach, is to pick out clouds in the sky, and see if they're shaped like anything in particular. Like this picture... do you see an angel?

"The heavens are Yours, and Yours also the earth; You founded the world and all that is in it."

Saved from a parking ticket, phew!

One Ontario parking officer has shown compassion toward  a troubled motorist.
Ottawa Official Jim Walton responded to a motorist who left a desperate note on their car after being locked out last Tuesday.
He decided to not ticket them, and also left a kind note to the driver. How nice.

Happy Fathers Day to all Dads and Papas!!!

This is one of the most beautiful fathers day videos I've ever seen, feel free to share to all dads/papas out there!

This Fathers Day, I would like to recognize all the "Father-figures" in my life...

First off- My Papa (Willie), my real-blood father.  He worked so hard to take care of me and all my siblings: Sanna, Joey, and Jake with his Plastics Business. He loved my mom, and showed a great example of what it is to love your parents, through the love he always showed toward my Grandmother (Abu Pitang).  I most remember day trips to the beach, games of basketball at the park with him, and papa helping me with my reading and history homework.  He passed away when I was 14.  I miss you and love you always, Papa.

Next Up- When Papa passed away, all his 4 brothers helped out to help raise me and my family/siblings in the Philippines for a few years.  I will always remember their kindness, and for how they stepped out of their daily routines to help take care of us... Tito Louie, Ernie, Ricky, Bernie.  Love you and miss you all!!!  Happy Fathers Day!!!

Also- Happy Fathers Day to my "Dad" (Dowain) here in Canada, who married my mom, and is the dad of my half-siblings Mike, Rob, and Chris. Dad always reminds us to trust and respect God.  He also gives me tips to be financially responsible, maintain my car, and how to be a loyal employee.  Thanks for helping to take care of 8 children! Love you too, dad.

And finally- My Eternal Father in Heaven- GOD... for always being there for me, I love you so much from the bottom of my heart.  Thanks for being the Best Father ever, when life gets crazy! Thanks for always being there.  I respect and honour you, and hope to let the world know of your greatness and love.  You're the best!!!

HAPPY FATHERS DAY TO ALL DADS/PAPAs/FATHERS out there!!!!

Chemotherapy for Superheroes

Kudos to advertising company JWT for getting the support of the world's top super heroes to encourage child cancer patients undergoing chemo therapy.

JWT paired a Brazilian cancer center with Warner Bros., to brand children's chemo therapy treatments  into a “Superformula.”

And to give these covers a more powerful meaning, they produced a special series of cartoons and comic books in which the superheroes would go through experiences similar to those of kids with cancer, and recover their strength, thanks to 'Superformula'."  Pretty cool idea!

Picture this... Your Child: "CPO- Child Play Officer", sounds good?

One of the coolest jobs for kids is up for grabs!

I just heard that Toys R Us Canada is looking for a 12 or 13 year old to become what they call a CPO- "Child Play Officer",
a one year contract where a kid gets toys delivered to their home, they test it, blog about it, and speak on national TV about it.

While most of us had our first time jobs working in newspaper delivery, dish washing, mowing lawns, babysitting, or greeting people in a store- this kid could have 'being a CPO for a world-wide company' on their resume as their first job.
Not bad.

If you think your child can handle the workload of school, sports, church, friends, and on top of that, testing toys for a living- Toys R Us is accepting video applications online til next Thursday, July 6 at  Cposearch.ca.

One of the most beautiful churches Ive ever seen!

This past week I was able to spend time visiting with family in Arizona.

Last Sunday, we had the chance to visit one of the most beautiful churches I've ever seen, 2 hours north of Phoenix in a place called Sedona.

The chapel is built in the middle of a red rock-face mountain... Absolutely Majestic!

It's called 'Chapel of the Holy Cross', and has little golf carts that can take you up
the mountain so you can go inside the church. Or, you can walk.

The chapel is maintained by the  Diocese of Phoenix.

It was built by a Christian artist named Marguerite Brunswig Staude in 1956,
who had a dream of building a structure that would Glorify and Thank God.

According to the church's website,
the message of the chapel is to be able to "invite all" to spend time to
pray and get connected to their creator.

And when you visit a beautiful mountainous place like Sedona, how can you not!

This is definitely on the list of  'must-see' places for any Christian with
an appreciation for artistic churches, esp. those buildings that have been
created with the purpose to help people feel  the peace of Christ.
