Last Sunday, we had the chance to visit one of the most beautiful churches I've ever seen, 2 hours north of Phoenix in a place called Sedona.
The chapel is built in the middle of a red rock-face mountain... Absolutely Majestic!
It's called 'Chapel of the Holy Cross', and has little golf carts that can take you up
the mountain so you can go inside the church. Or, you can walk.
The chapel is maintained by the Diocese of Phoenix.
It was built by a Christian artist named Marguerite Brunswig Staude in 1956,
who had a dream of building a structure that would Glorify and Thank God.

According to the church's website,
the message of the chapel is to be able to "invite all" to spend time to
pray and get connected to their creator.

And when you visit a beautiful mountainous place like Sedona, how can you not!
This is definitely on the list of 'must-see' places for any Christian with
an appreciation for artistic churches, esp. those buildings that have been
created with the purpose to help people feel the peace of Christ.
